Opening: 1 x Business Analyst - TFT - Please note that this is a contract till end of November 2025. This Full-Time position is a project-based role to support Year-End closing duties for the Corporate Accounting Team. This position is 5 days a week, and is a hybrid position based out of our Burnaby, BC head office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered. We are currently hiring a Business Analyst, Corporate Accounting based in our Head Office .

As a Business Analyst, Corporate Reporting , you’ll support the design, automation, and distribution of regular and ad-hoc reporting that informs decision-making across the organization. You’ll also play a key role in process improvement initiatives related to the acquisition, extraction, and retention of financial and non-financial data.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop reporting systems and dashboards to measure performance against benchmarks, business objectives, and profit plan targets.
  • Build and distribute recurring and ad-hoc reports using SSRS, SQL, Crystal Reports, and Excel.
  • Prepare documentation and specifications for reports, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Analyze reporting needs by collaborating with internal customers and translating requirements into solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in reporting processes, data infrastructure, and tools.
  • Monitor and enhance processes related to data acquisition, extraction, and retention.
  • Work closely with team members across BCAA, including Product Managers, ERS, Sales, and Finance.
  • Support communication with external auditors, consultants, and CAA/AAA representatives.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of reporting and analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting models.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Access.
  • Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or Crystal Reports.
  • Proficient in SQL for querying large database platforms.
  • Strong statistical analysis, mathematics, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of database concepts, conversion methods, and reporting principles.
  • Bonus Skills:
  • Previous experience in an insurance or financial institution.
  • Familiarity with continuous learning practices and quick adaptability to new reporting software and tools.

The salary range for this position is $73,167.96 to $91,460.04 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
