Facilities Projects Supervisor

FortisAlberta is seeking an experienced Facilities Projects Supervisor to lead the planning, governance, and delivery of facility infrastructure projects across our building portfolio.
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Capital Management & Facilities, this role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. You will provide technical leadership, oversee contractors and vendors, and collaborate across the organization to integrate operational needs, technical standards, and long‑term asset strategies.

Job Description
Lead the facilities project portfolio, setting priorities, managing risk, and establishing governance and technical standards. Oversee the full project lifecycle to ensure compliance with corporate procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations. Establish and maintain performance standards across building systems including mechanical, electrical, structural, and life‑safety systems. Lead contractor and vendor oversight, including contract performance, cost control, and invoice approval. Track, report, and present project milestones, deliverables, metrics, and corrective actions to leadership. Support annual capital and operating budget planning, including preparing and validating forecasts. Coordinate building inspections and assessments and approve or recommend remediation actions. Investigate and resolve facility‑related project issues while ensuring adherence to safety policies and standards.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 4 years of experience managing facilities or infrastructure projects. Project Management designation (such as Project Management Professional or equivalent) is an asset. Experience with SAP, CAD, and FM systems is an asset. Proven experience leading contractors and delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary facility projects. Strong technical knowledge of building systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, controls, and fire protection. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence outcomes. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
Important Information
Permanent, full-time role. Located at our Airdrie office. Monday – Friday schedule. Frequent travel throughout the service territory is required for this role including overnights.
