Job Description
Reporting to the Shop Manager, this position is designed to be a shop helper with assorted tasks and roles and possibility to grow within the company.
We are looking for a reliable safe worker looking to learn and grow within our shop. You will be a self starter team player, driven by your desire for success and excitement of the industry. Safety is key, with our safety program and core competency overview being a major asset in this role.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
General labour:
- Use of small hand tools, bench drills and sanders
- Measuring, marking and mounting parts inside electrical panels
- Basic wiring under supervision
- Assembling modular enclosures using drawings and small hand tools/wrenches
- Growing knowledge of electrical wiring, colour codes and drawings
- May include future forklift training and packaging for shipping
- Possibility for growth based on interest in the role.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade12 or equivalent trades training
- Reliable means of being at work on time every day
- Punctuality and consistent attendance are expected, with a readiness to work each day
- Willingness to put safety first and follow all shop guidelines
- Ability to accept direction/guidance from shop manager and lead hand
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and professional
- Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer relations skills
- Forklift Training/Skill an asset
- Computer skills not required but an asset
