Your mission :
Ready to transform our risk management practices ?
Under the authority of the Risk Management Principal Administrator, the Process Safety Advisor is responsible for reviewing process risks and developing and deploying control and intervention measures, in line with industry’s best practices. He/She collaborates closely with the organization's technical services to support, train, and advises tactical and operational decision-makers on process risk management and ensures that records are kept up to date. Additionally, he/she contributes to fostering a risk culture within the organization.
Work model: Enjoy the flexibility of remote work, with occasional on-site visits at our Becancour plant based on business needs.
Your Day-to-Day :
- Develop the process safety program and all related procedures.
- Assess process risks for all organizational sites.
- Work with technical services and operations to implement risk controls and develop the ability to intervene in case of incidents related to processes.
- Support the Health and Safety, Environment, and Quality groups in assessing and consolidating operational risks.
- Periodically review process risks, including machine safety and other functional risks, and produce relevant reports.
- Provide expertise, advice, and instructions on process safety as needed.
- Train key personnel on the application of the process safety program requirements.
- Identify opportunities for improvement related to process safety and advise the organization accordingly.
- Support the development of a risk-based decision-making approach and contribute to building a risk culture within the organization.
- Represent the organization on various committees as a process safety expert.
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities inherent to the role or that may be assigned.
Your qualifications :
- University degree in engineering (chemical, process, or related field);
- 7 to 10 years of relevant process safety experience, preferably in the chemical or mining industry.
- Familiarity with CSA Z767 and IEC 61882 guidelines.
- Proficiency in HAZID, HAZOP, Bowties, LOPA methods.
- Expertise in coaching and guidance techniques.
- Actively promote values of health and safety, ethics, diversity, and inclusion.
