ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Product Manager serves as a key driver for business growth and category leadership. This role is accountable for shaping and executing the product strategy across assigned categories for both the US and Canadian markets, while ensuring alignment across channels served as well as with the broader Category Strategic Roadmap. Beyond managing the end-to-end product lifecycle, the Product Manager will own market positioning, competitive differentiation, and profitability for assigned product lines.
Acting as the strategic hub between market insights, brand, sales, and operations, the Product Manager translates customer needs, industry trends, and financial objectives into actionable product initiatives. This includes leading cross-functional teams through Taymor’s Stage Gate product development process—from opportunity assessment and concept validation through to commercialization and in-market performance.
The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor, project management skill set with creative vision, ensuring that each product launch not only meets operational milestones but also delivers measurable impact on market share, revenue growth, and category relevance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify product line requirements, conduct research, develop and implement project business plans to bring new products to market that are strategically aligned with their product category

Manage new products through the Stage Gate process including development of business cases, establish initial forecasts, test and design with supply partners and facilitate product launch and commercialization

Manage the overall product assortment with assigned categories and ensure all stages of the product life cycle (development, introduction, maturity, and exit) are identified and the appropriate actions executed in a timely manner

Develop and manage product specifications in collaboration with Quality, Design and Sales that ensures specifications are revised and updated in a timely manner as needed across all media for internal and external (customer) use

Working closely with Marketing, the Director of Design, and Sales, develop marketing strategies for the category including positioning, branding, pricing policies, merchandising, product launch requirements and plans, technical documentation, advertising and promotional programs

In collaboration with the Sourcing and Supply Chain department, drive the financial performance of their product category through life cycle management and sku rationalization; optimizing investment and expenses, management of new, overstock and discontinued products

Develop, implement and manage the category pricing strategy

Monitor the business environment including regulatory changes, competitor intelligence and technology advancements that could impact product development and category success

Participate in developing the annual category budget, to include design, drafting and tooling expenses

Manage ongoing relationships with factory partners to optimize relationship and operating parameters, including factory visits/inspection and participating in annual supplier performance reviews

Assist in proper investigation and resolution of major quality and inventory management problems

Interact with company Executives, Sales Managers, Marketing, Logistics and Replenishment, QA, Customer Service, Warehouse leadership, suppliers, and select customers to ensure full alignment in executing organizational strategic plans

Provide appropriate product knowledge guidance and assistance to Sales and Customer Service teams in responding to customer and consumer inquiries

Responsible for set-up and maintenance of accurate product information files on our enterprise system

Deliver product training to sales teams in the form of product knowledge sessions, presentations and product bulletins
ABOUT YOU
You’re a strategic, detail-oriented product manager who thrives on turning market insights into innovative products. You ideally bring 5+ years of experience managing multiple product lines, as well as strong analytical skills, a knack for cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to guide projects from concept to launch while balancing cost, quality, and timing. We're looking for someone with:

Experience managing the full product lifecycle for multiple product lines simultaneously

Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver on product goals, timelines, and budgets

Proven ability to develop products with overseas suppliers and factories, ensuring quality and compliance

Has conducted and applied market research to guide product development and positioning

Demonstrated knowledge in building business cases, managing costs, margins, and pricing strategies
-
Is adept at facilitating meetings, communicate effectively across teams, suppliers, and customers
-
Can effectively use project management tools to keep complex initiatives on track

Some international travel required
