Job Summary
Chief Isaac Group of Companies is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support our company's finance department by managing day-to-day accounting tasks and ensuring data accuracy. To maintain accurate financial records through tasks like data entry, processing invoices, reconciling accounts payable and receivable. As well, handling general ledger entries, assist with payroll, prepare financial reports, and ensure financial documents are properly filed and organized.
Key Responsibilities
- Data entry and record-keeping: Posting financial transactions, updating ledgers, and maintaining organized and complete historical financial records.
- Accounts payable and receivable: Processing bills, invoices, and payments; tracking and following up on overdue payments; and ensuring the accuracy of accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Performing bank reconciliations, checking for discrepancies in records, and reconciling balance sheets.
- Financial reporting: Assisting with the preparation of various financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
- Payroll: Managing employee payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes.
- Administrative support: Performing general office tasks like filing, answering phones, and responding to emails.
- Compliance and filing: Filing financial documents and assisting with tax filings and audits.
- Communication: Interacting with vendors and clients regarding billing issues.

The Chief Isaac Group of Companies was established in 1984 to own and operate the business interests of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in (translated as ‘people of the river'), a self-governing Yukon First Nation serving the Han people located in Dawson City.
In 2009, the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Trust was established as the sole shareholder of the Chief Isaac Group of Companies acting on behalf of the Trust's beneficiaries – the citizens of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in.
The Chief Isaac Group of Companies operates contemporary enterprises in the modern world, while remaining rooted in the strong, ethical traditions of our ancestors.
Our group of companies respectfully carries the name of this historic Chief who led the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in at the time of the Klondike Gold Rush during the late 1800s.
