Description:

Northern Lights College is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to facilitate and deliver the Youth Explore Trades Sampler Program on the Dawson Creek campus. This program introduces students to a variety of trades and provides them with the opportunity to explore different disciplines. It is designed to help students gain a clearer understanding of the standards, materials, instructional methods, and academic performance expectations associated with apprenticeship training.

Contract:

  • March 30 – April 2, 2026, 2026 (prep)
  • April 7 – May 14, 2026 Instruction (excluding/unpaid April 36, May 18)
  • May 19 – May 22, 2026 course closeout/prep

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Red Seal Certification, or equivalent, in Carpentry, Automotive Mechanics, Plumbing, Electrical, or Welding.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in one or more of the following trades: Carpentry, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical or Welding.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, and Outlook).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preference will be given to candidates holding Red Seal Certification

Preferred:

  • Adult teaching experience, including the supervision or instruction of apprentices.
  • Completion of, or enrolment in, the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent teaching credential.
