For over fifty years, Fort Edmonton Park has told the city’s story to generations of Edmontonians and visitors alike. Now, the Park is looking towards the future with exciting enhancement projects that will captivate the public and tell new stories for years to come!

Apply your enthusiasm and love of Canadian history to help create a fun and exciting experience for everyone at Fort Edmonton Park’s historical 1920’s Midway and Tom Thumb mini-golf course. You will be part of a dynamic, committed team of ride operators that deliver excellence in customer service and make every visitor's experience memorable. Your success will be measured by your ability to perform all your duties in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.

What will you do?

  • Conduct opening and closing ride checks and procedures
  • Operate various rides in accordance with safety legislation and facility procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service while interacting with the public and responding to their questions
  • Collect detailed statistical information and complete inventories as required
  • Operate rides and games for evening rental clients as required
  • Operate games booth
  • Operate Tom Thumb Mini-Golf in accordance with facility procedures
  • Report any issues with ride operation to your supervisor
  • Participate in overall activation of the Midway, mini-golf and monitoring of indoor spaces
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent or higher

Assets:

  • Ability to use other languages (in addition to English) in conversation
  • Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR Certificates prior to employment
  • Knowledge of Western Canadian History
  • Capable of operating hand-cranked rides; experience in mechanical ride operation
  • Experience working at a living history site

Skills required for success:

  • Experience working with the general public, including tour groups and children
  • Proven customer service skills, including strong communication skills

Conditions of Employment:

  • Physical ability and manual dexterity to perform the assigned tasks and duties of this position in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions, including allergens such as animals, dust, pollen and insects
  • Hire is dependent on Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
  • Successful candidates must be willing to sign a media consent form in accordance with City policy and participate in media events

Successful candidates may be eligible for recall in the 2027 season Up to 5 temporary part-time positions for up to 8 months Hours of Work: up to 39 hours per week, operations is open from 7:00 am - 11:00 pm, 7 days a week. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required. (Note: Wednesday to Sunday as the predominant work days during May to September)

Salary: $20.320 (Hourly)
