Health and Safety Program Development Specialist
About the role
**Location:**Markham
Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager, H&S Program Development, the H&S Program Development Specialist, supports the development of Sofina Foods Canada’s H&S management system and associated governance.
Key Accountabilities:

Facilitate and coordinate the development of H&S processes and KPI’s with plant H&S and production teams

Support and coordinate the development of SOP’s and training materials for plant based production activities
-
Facilitate cross functional learning teams to ensure H&S processes meet the needs of the end users, align to our blueprint, and comply with regulatory requirements

Research and stay abreast of regulatory changes to ensure Sofina Foods governance remains complaint and best in class
-
Compiling historical documentation and best practices into H&S processes and governance

Facilitating sessions at plant sites, inspecting and documenting processes at active food processing facilities
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree in Health & Safety or a related field
- Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role
- Prior experience in H&S regulatory requirements in multiple Canadian jurisdictions
- Demonstrated prior experience in developing H&S standards and governance
- Strong English and technical writing skills
