###Position Overview
The Trade Compliance Manager will lead and manage all aspects of global trade compliance within our organization. This role ensures adherence to international trade laws, regulations, and internal policies while enabling efficient and compliant cross-border operations.
###Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive trade compliance program aligned with global regulations (e.g., Canada’s Export/Import Regulations, ITAR, EAR, CUI, CBSA, customs laws).
- Oversee import/export activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
- Manage classification of goods, valuation, country of origin, and documentation requirements.
- Lead trade compliance risk assessments of projects/programs.
- Collaborate with Quality on internal compliance audits.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on trade compliance requirements.
- Develop strong business partner relationships, including collaborating closely with global business and functional leaders such as engineering, project management, manufacturing, supply chain management, finance, legal, logistics, etc.
- Liaise with government agencies, customs brokers, and external partners.
- Lead investigations and reporting related to trade compliance violations.
Other duties as required within the context of the role.
###Qualifications
Technical/Professional Knowledge
- Experience with US & Canada Customs Regulations.
- Detailed understanding of import/export operations, trade compliance concepts, and global trade regulations in a multinational environment.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing trade compliance strategies in a complex, multinational environment.
- Proven ability to develop compliance strategies and manage complex regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform research across both technical and regulatory/legal environments and ability to communicate impact to shareholders and executives
Analytical & Operational Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
- Excellent decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and presentation skills with the ability to train stakeholders

###Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Law, or related field with 5 years of experience in trade compliance, or Minimum 8 years of experience in trade compliance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CCS, CES, CTCS) are an asset.
- Work experience in the Defence Industry is an asset.
Experience working in SAP or other major ERP systems is an asset.
Compensation
$90,000-$120,000
