As a Shipping & Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Highbury traffic functions while managing issues in the supply chain delivering against customer expectations.
This is a full-time position that reports to the Sr. Warehouse Manager. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that values your input and expertise. What you will do: Manage Supervisors, planners and daily business needs. Assist in planning shipments in customer portals (TMS, SAP) and Highbury’s ERP (SAP). Plan Export shipments. Arrange FedEx shipments. Provide USMCA Certificates and Proforma and or customs invoices when requested. Monitor IDOC’s in SAP and Correct IDOC errors when needed. Coordinate continuous improvement projects and track progress with Supervisors and team. Communicate with Supervisors and Leads on loading order importance. Monitor all shipment exceptions, issues and customer expectations and react in conjunction with customers, carriers, traffic and warehouse personnel to find an amicable solution and make alternative delivery arrangements. Work closely with all departments of the warehouse; Shipping, Warehouse and Receiving/Production. Work closely with the customers. (i.e. Heinz, Pepsi, Ocean Spray) Prepare summaries and reports as required. Communicate shipping resolutions and any issues to senior management. Provide miscellaneous assistance when requested from customers. Oversee the operations of Traffic and Shipping. Ensuring all customer orders are scheduled for on-time delivery and that the trucks are utilized at the maximum weights. Act as a liaison with the carriers ensuring adherence to customer policies and procedures. Participate in daily operations meetings to communicate expected volumes and review and resolve any interdepartmental discrepancies. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality standards. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings as assigned. Always demonstrate good housekeeping practices to help maintain a safe work area. Perform miscellaneous duties as required.
Requirements: Experience and knowledge of advanced ERP systems (SAP) & online portals. Excellent computer skills; proficient in Excel Excellent communication, time management, analytical and organizational skills. 5 – 10 years related transportation experience. Supervisory management experience in the transportation industry
