This new leadership role will guide our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) – programs across our petroleum divisions in Ontario and Quebec.

What you’ll Do:

Lead and develop HSE programs for Central Canada, ensuring policies and procedures meet the highest safety standards
-
Manage and inspire an operational safety team, setting clear safety-related KPIs and monitoring performance

Establish incident targets, track progress, and introduce proactive initiatives to continually improve safety results
-
Develop and launch safety campaigns and training programs that engage employees and strengthen our safety-first culture
-
Act as a change agent, educating drivers, staff, and leadership on safe operations and compliance best practices

Lead and support incident investigations, oversee investigation protocols, and identify trends to prevent reoccurrence
-
Mentor and coach HSE managers and coordinators, building strong leadership capacity within the team
-
Collaborate with national safety leaders and risk/loss control personnel on cross-regional safety strategies
-
Serve as a customer liaison, representing Seaboard on safety matters in meetings, audits, and contract negotiations
-
Deliver regular safety reports to leadership and customers, ensuring transparency and accountability
What you Bring:
-
A degree or diploma in health, safety, and environment (an asset) along with relevant certifications or training
-
Proven leadership experience in health and safety, including policy development, program implementation, and incident investigation
-
Experience in the transportation industry (bulk or dangerous goods experience considered a strong asset)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns and drive effective solutions
-
A track record of being a catalyst for positive change, challenging the status quo and building stronger safety practices
-
Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to engage internal teams and external partners
-
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
-
Ability to balance independence with teamwork, providing leadership while collaborating across departments
-
High level of computer literacy and confidence in preparing reports, tracking metrics, and using digital safety tools
