This is a one-year temporary position beginning August 26, 2026 through June 29, 2027. Assignment: Grade 2 – English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Studies
Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time
FTE: 0.70
Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Training and/or experience in early literacy and numeracy instruction, with a focus on supporting strong foundational skills in young learners

The ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environments that support the social, emotional, and academic growth of students
-
Knowledge of and experience implementing differentiated instruction and inclusive practices to support diverse learning needs in a Grade 2 classroom
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
-
A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment

Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
-
Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning

The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
-
A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard

A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
