Site Description:
Built in 1844, Kingston City Hall is a prominent landmark and a national historic site. Architect George Browne designed it when Kingston was the capital of what was then called the United Province of Canada. The building serves several purposes including space for local government, a market and public assembly. It contains many municipal services and showcases the history of Kingston, which can be explored through tours to view the artifacts and artworks on display.
Position: Full Time Security Guard - City of Kingston Hall
Site: Kingston City Hall - 216 Ontario St.
Hours: Monday - Friday 0800-1630
Payrate: $22.14/hourly
Overtime Method: | ON ESA - After 44 hours
Internal Posting Date: October 7, 2025
Internal Closing Date: October 14, 2025
External Closing Date: November 30, 2025
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactive & reactive security patrols
- Majority of shift will be spent conducting exterior patrols
- Response to incidents
- Enforce policies and new rules
- Report writing and note taking
- Daily shift reports
- Access Control
- Investigate routine incidents
- Additional Duties as Assigned
Job Requirements:
- Valid Security License for Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Able to stand for up to 6-8 hours per shift
- Able to complete extensive patrolling of site
- Enforce Rules on site
- English communication (oral and written) required
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
