POSITION: Seasonal Greenhouse Supervisor

**REPORTS TO:**Director of Operations

Job Purpose:

The F3 Supervisor assists to oversee our greenhouse operations at F3. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture and exceptional leadership skills. This role will involve managing day-to-day conventional production at F3 as well as guiding and leading the staff at F3.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production of herb and vegetable production including planting, harvesting, and post-harvest.

• Assist with training and supervising greenhouse staff.

• Liaise with other greenhouse departments, including production, and shipping to ensure inbound/outbound interfacility paperwork is completed.

• Oversee the inbound plant material process, ensuring proper documentation and interfacility paperwork completion.

• Supervise and participate in daily harvesting activities, ensuring plant material meets quality standards before transport.

• Coordinate transportation of harvested plant material to the F2 facility.

• Perform and track daily crop maintenance tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations and the growing team.

• Maintain accurate inventory records by conducting weekly counts and tracking plant material availability.

• Monitor and document plant material waste to improve efficiency and reduce losses.

• Implement quality control measures, ensuring the harvesting crew checks for pests and that all plant material meets required specifications.

• Ensure the greenhouse remains clean, organized, and in compliance with operational standards.

• Track inventory and availability of plant material by completing weekly inventory, and as needed.

• Work closely with other departments (e.g., sales, marketing) to align production goals with market demand and customer needs.

• Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

• Ensure compliance with CFIA and GAP protocols.

• Oversee staff hours and department changes in ADP.

• Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety laws and regulations as well as Freeman Herbs' policies and procedures.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a greenhouse setting.

**Qualifications/**Experience:

• Basic understanding of greenhouse operations, plant care, and crop maintenance.
• Strong organizational skills to track inventory, waste, and interfacility paperwork.
• Attention to detail for quality control, pest monitoring, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Ability to follow instructions from the Director of Operations and growing team.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with the harvesting crew and transportation team.
• Physical ability to work in an open farm environment and perform manual tasks.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to greenhouse supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in greenhouse technology.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adapt to changing weather conditions, including extreme heat.
