About the Role
The Second Cook plays an important role in bringing the Cordo Resto + Bar experience to life. As part of our culinary team at Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops, you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality, locally inspired dishes in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Working alongside our Chef and culinary leadership team, you’ll support day-to-day kitchen operations—preparing ingredients, executing menu items with consistency, and maintaining high standards of food safety and presentation. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys working as part of a team, and is looking to grow within a well-established hospitality brand. At Cordo, we focus on approachable, elevated dining and genuine guest experiences—your work will directly contribute to that.
What You’ll Do
Prepare and cook menu items in line with Cordo and Marriott brand standards
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes
Set up, stock, and maintain your station for service
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service
Support inventory management and minimize waste
Step in to support broader kitchen operations as needed
Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs
What We’re Looking For
Completion of a recognized culinary training program or equivalent hands-on experience
Food Safe certification
Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment in a hotel or restaurant setting
Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen systems with consistency
Strong teamwork skills and a reliable, positive attitude
Familiarity with Canadian or locally inspired cuisine
Solid knife skills and understanding of core cooking techniques
Passion for hospitality and delivering a great guest experience
Legal eligibility to work in Canada
Working Conditions
Fast-paced, guest-focused kitchen environment
Standing for extended periods
Shift-based work including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
