About the role
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Cambridge, ON
Type: Full-time | Executive Leadership
About Us
We are a family-owned, private enterprise with diverse operations spanning construction, real estate development and property management, investments, and automation/manufacturing. - Oversee mergers and acquisitions due diligence, integration, and strategic alignment.
- Advise on risk management, tax planning, and estate/wealth considerations for the family business.

- Oversee all financial operations (accounting, budgeting, cash flow, controls, reporting) across construction, real estate, property management, investments, and manufacturing entities.
- Develop and manage consolidated reporting across multiple entities for ownership and key stakeholders.
- Implement robust financial systems, internal audits, and controls to ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Monitor monthly performance against the business plan, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare year-end financial records and oversee annual audit/review engagements.
Leadership & Culture
- Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with external partners, banks, auditors, vendors, and investors.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, balancing entrepreneurial vision with disciplined financial stewardship.
- Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and cultural alignment across all businesses.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required; MBA or other advanced business/finance credentials an asset.
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including as CFO or VP Finance in private, entrepreneurial, or family-owned businesses.
- Proven track record managing finances across multiple entities and industries, with exposure to construction, real estate/property management, investments, and/or manufacturing preferred.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic growth planning.
- Strong background in financial planning, forecasting, risk management, and operational finance.
