Job Summary The Accounts Receivable Coordinator is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Applies customer payments.
  • Research and solve payment discrepancies.
  • Prepare and drop off manual bank deposits.
  • Prepare weekly reports.
  • Correspond incoming Finance Department phone calls, handle customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems; verify and adjust customer accounts.
  • Follow up on slow paying customer accounts and invoice customers.
  • Accounts payable support and related duties may be required.
  • Perform related clerical duties; data entry, maintain filing and record keeping systems and photocopying.
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years’ previous AR experience is required.
  • AR experience in the produce industry preferred.
  • Financial management skills and ethical conduct are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; ERP, HEB/Procurant/iTrade/Transcepta and FAMOUS® preferred.
  • Proven ability to work and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail, as well as consistent follow-through skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills are essential; results oriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively plan and prioritize workflow.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and in a team atmosphere.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English with all levels of the organization required.
  • Self-motivated, good decision maker, good reasoning skills and sound problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required.
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; the employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods is required.
  • The position may involve needing to lift to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds (e.g. filing boxes).
