Reports To: Managing Director, Fund Development and Marketing

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30AM - 4:00 PM

Location: 130- 2850 Sunridge Blvd NE, Calgary AB

Purpose of Position:

Pacekids Programs is a family-focused, non-profit service provider that empowers children with diverse needs and their families through excellence in therapy, education, and play. Pacekids provides services to over 700 children each year, offering a range of programs that promote children’s healthy development, maximize quality of life, assist families in their role as primary caregivers and support full participation in community life.

As a key member of the Fund Development and Marketing team, the role exemplifies Pacekids’ values of collaboration, learning, respect, integrity, and accountability, and plays an integral role in fostering a team that shares the Pacekids’ vision and mission while collaborating with staff members across the organization.

Tasked with the development and execution of a multi-channel comprehensive community awareness strategy for our Early Childhood Schools (ECS) in Sunridge and Sundance locations, the Recruitment and Marketing Specialist serves as the primary face of the school by combining creative marketing with high-touch relationship management to build a robust referral network increasing enrollment in both schools. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship building and sales skills with experience in digital and content marketing. Success in this role will be measured through enrollment growth, referral network expansion, and increased community awareness and engagement.

This is a full-time permanent position, with hours outside of a regular workday occasionally required.

Overview of Responsibilities:

Strategic Outreach & Relationship Management

  • Identify, visit, and cultivate partnerships with pediatricians, family physicians, therapists, and community support organizations to establish Pacekids as a primary referral destination.
  • Conduct formal presentations for professional audiences to educate them on Pacekids unique programming, services, and benefits.
  • Organize presentations and represent Pacekids at community events, health fairs and parenting groups to build brand recognition and collect prospective family leads.
  • Coordinate internal awareness events including Open House’s, presentations and tours for referral partners, and online information sessions.

Marketing and Content Creation

  • Design and update traditional and digital marketing materials, including brochures and flyers tailored to both professional referrers and prospective families.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations that explain Pacekids offerings and impact to diverse audiences.
  • Execute email marketing and newsletters to keep registered and interested families engaged throughout the decision-making process.
  • Create engaging content for social media and other Pacekids communication platforms highlighting classroom life for a child and stories from families who have benefited from attending Pacekids ECS programs.
  • Support the Communications and Engagement Specialist with Pacekids marketing initiatives, social media management, website updates, and content creation as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with the Intake Team to audit and update marketing materials, collect enrollment data to identify strategic outreach priorities, and refine the discovery process to address conversion gaps.
  • Collaborate with the ECS, Therapy and Community and In-Home programming teams to understand the clinical benefits of Pacekids integrated model and how best to communicate this into accessible, clear, benefit driven messaging for families and referral partners.
  • Establish and maintain effective feedback loops with prospective families and community partners to gather actionable insights, identifying opportunities for program improvement and refining our value proposition to more effectively communicate Pacekids impact.

Administrative Support

  • Ensure timely and accurate recording to track the effectiveness of outreach efforts and reporting on enrollment trends.
  • Manage awareness event budgets and enrollment marketing spend to track ROI and inform future spending.
  • Assist with all team administration as required and create and update documents to help keep the team organized and efficient.
  • Support other Pacekids team members with special projects as required.

Position Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in recruitment, community outreach, or admissions, preferably within a healthcare or educational setting.
  • Post secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Early Childhood Education, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (Canva), Wordpress, social media management, email marketing, and CRM databases.
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills to diverse audiences and groups of varying sizes and professional backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build trust quickly with both families and medical professionals and community partners through empathetic, clear, and highly persuasive communication
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal. Proficiency in other languages is an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills and comfort in using Zoom, Teams, MS Office Suite; experience with CRM platforms such as Donor Perfect or Raiser’s Edge is an asset.
  • Clearance from a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check, current within the last six months; can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame
  • Clearance from a Child Intervention Record Check, current within the last year; can be obtained upon hire within a designated time frame
  • Current Alberta driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for frequent local travel to meetings and events.
