Bobier Villa is a 57-bed long-term care facility nestled in the community of Dutton in the Municipality of Dutton/Dunwich, just 20 minutes west of London, Ontario. Bobier Villa offers 24-hour nursing care, private and basic accommodation, sitting areas, expansive gardens, a large water feature, and gazebos. Whitelock Place serves as a gathering area for residents, family members and guests and hosts a wide variety of recreational and spiritual programs in a beautiful home-like setting.
Position Title: Recreationist
Type: Temporary, Regular Part-time (RPT)
Compensation: $27.66 – $28.09/hour as per collective agreement

Responsibilities:
As a Recreationist, you will plan, organize and conduct group and individual programs for the residents, while also following guidelines regarding referrals or instructions signed by the Medical Director and/or professional therapists. Your work may also involve liaising with outside agencies/other recreationists, professional organizations to promote positive growth of the role. Attention to detail is imperative, as you will be recording and reporting resident progress, establishing program priorities, scheduling, and program evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Must have a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university.
- You have the ability to handle physical task demands and have good working knowledge of Peterson-Gunn theory of Activation/Recreation.
- 1 to 3 years experience in a geriatrics environment or equivalent of qualifications and experience.
