JOB OVERVIEW
Leads the full project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery in line with established baselines. Defines project scope with internal stakeholders, manages planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, and oversees resource allocation, risk mitigation, and effective stakeholder communication.
Collaborates with engineering firms, prepares bid documents for equipment procurement and installation, evaluates proposals, and supervises installation to ensure compliance. Serves as the primary point of contact for all project activities, driving the successful delivery of complex projects that support core business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Respects all safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Defines project scopes, objectives, and deliverables; creates project plans, sets timelines and budgets
- Allocates resources (personnel, budget, equipment) effectively to maximize project efficiency
- Leads and motivates project teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring team members understand their roles and responsibilities
- Identifies potential risks, develops mitigation strategies, anticipates and proactively addresses issues to minimize disruptions
- Maintains clear and open communication with all stakeholders, providing efficient project updates; manages stakeholders’ expectations
- Tracks and reports project progress against baselines, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions
- Ensures project deliverables meet quality and regulatory standards and stakeholder expectations
- Creates detailed records of executed tasks
- Understands budgeting principles and ability to manage project finances
- Conducts official project closing documenting lessons learned and conducting post-project reviews
- Streamlines project processes, improves communication, and enhances overall team productivity
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience in project management
- Holds a valid Engineering license; member of OIQ (an asset)
- Holds a valid PMP certification (an asset)
- Background in industrial environments (machine shops, aeronautics, or related fields), with hands-on experience in machine installations and production tooling (an asset)
