customers running safely and reliably. As a Shop Service Supervisor in Calgary, AB, you'll lead a skilled team responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment that supports some of the most demanding operations in the industry.
This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to safety while working with industry-leading Komatsu equipment. You'll play a key role in driving performance, supporting employee development, and ensuring high-quality service for our customers.
Location: Calgary, AB
Base Salary: $108,000 - $116,000 per year Work Arrangement: On-site Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as required
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily shop operations, workflow scheduling, and coordination of tradespeople to meet operational requirements.
- Assign work and allocate resources to optimize productivity and equipment turnaround times.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical support to technicians and apprentices.
- Perform in-process and post-repair inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with standards.
- Enforce company policies, safe work practices, OHSE standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and support the completion of work orders, service quotes, warranty documentation, and technical reports.
- Resolve service-related issues and communicate repair solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities with lead hands, welders, subcontractors, and field service teams as required.
- Support employee training, performance development, and cross-training opportunities.
- Participate in incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
You bring 2+ years of supervisory experience and 5+ years of heavy equipment
industry experience, along with strong technical knowledge of Komatsu and other OEM equipment. You are a safety-focused leader who can effectively support technicians, manage shop operations, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of OH&S legislation, safety management systems, and inspection requirements.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage shop resources effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Commitment to developing team members through coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support.
