Data Scientist (Full-Time) - Brampton, ON

The Data Scientist will be a member of the Digital Americas organization. Digital Americas is a multi-disciplinary technical team comprised of data scientists, software engineers and operations research experts. The team serves Linde business units and is tasked with creating analytics and decision support systems that deliver solutions for challenging problems across operations, supply chain and business process.
The candidate will work closely with our software engineers to enable stakeholders to seamlessly use our technology. The candidate must possess the ability to architect the appropriate solution from the ground up based on a set of business requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with business partners to understand product requirements and define appropriate technical solutions
- Lead technical development of cutting-edge analytics and decision support tools
- Stay abreast of new technology and actively contribute ideas for new programs
- Balance development of new solutions with replication and support of existing tools
Qualifications Required:
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or with a specialization in data science or analytics
- Experience formulating and solving optimization, machine learning, forecasting or statistical modeling problems
- Skilled with a major programming language such as Python, Java, C++, C#, or C
- Ability to succinctly convey complex solutions to business stakeholders and executive leadership
- Availability to travel up to 25%, domestic and international
Preferred
- PhD degree in Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or with a specialization in data science or analytics
- 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with SQL and designing and using databases
- Experience with data visualization
- Experience working with Large Language Models and generative AI technologies
This is a new position with a starting salary of $85,000/year.
