The Universal Group, recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed companies in 2025, has an exciting opportunity in our Traffic Operation team. As a Permit Checker & Parking Attendant, You will be responsible for maintaining order, safety, and positive customer experience across designated sites. The position involves regular patrols of parking areas, verifying permits, identifying unauthorized vehicles, and taking appropriate action in accordance with company policies. The incumbent will play a key role in enforcing parking rules while maintaining a professional and customer-friendly approach, often serving as the first point of contact for drivers and the public.

Please note this is a contract position that will begin this summer with an estimated duration of approximately 5-6 weeks.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Monitor assigned parking areas to ensure vehicles are parked in accordance with site regulations.

  • Verify valid permits, passes, or authorizations for parked vehicles.

  • Provide directions and assistance to customers regarding parking rules and availability.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and incidents.

  • Report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or unauthorized vehicles to supervisors.

  • Assist in managing traffic flow within parking areas during peak hours or events.

  • Ensure signage and parking instructions are clearly followed.

  • Deliver excellent customer service while enforcing policies professionally.

Where/When you will be working:

  • In Vancouver, BC; transit accessible.

  • Working outdoors in all elements and weather.

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The recruitment process for this role typically lasts 1 week and includes a phone screen, behavioral assessment and a brief, final, virtual interview.
