About the role

Job Description Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual lathes to produce custom parts according to blueprints or technical drawings.

Select and install proper tools and materials for each job.

Measure and inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, verniers and other precision instruments.

Perform regular maintenance on machines and keep the work area clean and safe.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings and work orders to determine machining operations.

Monitor machine operation and adjust as needed to maintain accuracy and quality.

Deburr, clean, and finish parts as required.

Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications Requirements:

Proven experience operating manual lathes (2+ years preferred).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Skilled in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).

Strong attention to detail and quality.

Basic math and mechanical skills.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with other manual machines such as mills, grinders, or drill presses.

Familiarity with different metals and materials.

Basic knowledge of machining speeds, feeds, and cutting tools.
