Dimensions
The Longhole Driller reports to the Underground Supervisor at the Borden site to ensure the underground mine operates according to company, federal, provincial and municipal standards.
Purpose
Operate mechanized longhole drill to production holes for mining stopes between levels. The longhole driller will have the ability to prepare their workplace headings to standard.

Is responsible for their health and safety as well as others
Will correct or report unsafe practices or conditions. Maintains a safe and healthy place to work. Make suggestions to improve any aspect of safety and will correct issues wherever possible.
Will understand and follow company policies and procedures
Learns and follows the safety rules and procedures for safe performance of the job.
Essential Job Duties
Must be able to operate mechanized longhole drill
Ability to be trained on tele-op longhole drilling from surface in between shifts Must be able to setup and install casing for down holes Must be able to read, understand and follow prints Must be able to setup the workplace in a safe and productive fashion Other work as assigned by supervisor

High School Diploma
Basic Underground Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002 and U0012) U0004 Drill Rock U0006 Blast Rock U0011 Extend Services U0013 Operate Lifting Mechanism(s) U0014 Forklift Operation U0024 Operate Utility Vehicle U0028 Operate Scissor Lift U0080 Install and Maintain Underground Pipe System U0082 Install and Maintain Underground Ventilation Equipment U0090 Operate Mechanized Long Hole Drill Fall arrest training Lifting Mechanisms Minimum of seven (7) years mining experience.
