Our Client is seeking an Intermediate Financial Analyst to provide comprehensive support across financial operations, contract management, project auditing, and cost analysis activities. The role will provide accurate financial reporting, effective procurement and contract processes, and adherence to governance and compliance standards. The Financial Analyst will contribute directly to operational excellence by preparing forecasts, validating financial transactions, maintaining documentation, and developing analytical models that support strategic and operational decision making.

This is an onsite role located in downtown Edmonton. Must be Canadian Citizen to apply.

Experience Required/Mandatory Skills

• Relevant post-secondary education in the areas of business administration, accounting or finance, Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and Canadian public sector accounting standards or equivalent.

• The ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• Experience using SAP and Ariba for contract workspace management. (3+ years)

• Experience with and knowledge of financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements, and using Microsoft Excel. (3+ years)

• Experience working in accounting systems creating processes, managing budgets, and internal controls. (3+ years)

Nice To Have Skills

• Pursuing or have CPA designation.

• Experience with trade agreements, Financial Administration Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Public Works Act. (3+ years)

• Experience drafting, reviewing, and managing vendor contracts in a complex environment. (3+ years)

• Experience analyzing research data and presenting findings in diverse ways. (3+ years)

• Experience creating flowcharts/diagrams/analyses, including but not limited to activity, process flow, data flow, entity relationship, mind map, roadmap/plan, gap analysis, organizational chart, SWOT analysis, RACI matrix, UI wireframes, user personas/journey maps. (3+ years)

• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of costs and benefits. (3+ years)

• Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative solutions. (3+ years)

• Experience with process improvement, documentation and requirement gathering. (3+ years)

• Experience working with Information Technology accounting and processes. (3+ years)

• Experience with coordinating contract documents. (3+ years)

• Ability to evaluate cost models, contract risks, and pricing structures. (3+ years)

• Strong analytical, decision-making and organizational skills. (3+ years)
