The Recreation & Parks department is looking forward to another great year of Summer Day Camps, delivering 95-day camps to over 1800 children ages 4–12 in July and August. Canada Day events are also supported by Recreation Leaders.
The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Recreation & Parks department as Recreation Leader 2 – Assistant Summer Camp Coordinator.
Reporting to Recreation Program Coordinators, this position is responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing fun, safe, and inclusive day camps at Servus Place, City of St. Albert clubhouses, and various outdoor park and playground spaces throughout the city.
Qualifications
- Currently in Grade 12 or pursuing/completed post-secondary education.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C with AED certifications are required prior to starting.
- Experience planning, leading and supervising activities with children.
- Experience organizing children’s recreation programs and supervising staff is an asset.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- HIGH FIVE ®PHCD and NCCP FMS Certifications are considered assets.
Hours of Work
Weekday shifts between 7:30am-5:30pm (up to 40 hours per week).
Compensation
The wage ranges from $17.99 - $21.91 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
