What You Will Do GFT is seeking a BIM Manager to join our Buildings + Places business in Toronto ! This role follows a flexible/hybrid work schedule, out of either the Toronto, or Vancouver area.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do Working closely with GFT’s Digital Delivery group, the BIM Manager plays a critical role in supporting the design and delivery of vertical projects across architecture, structural, MEP, and vertical transportation disciplines. This role is focused on the successful implementation, coordination, and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and technology throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our teams are equipped with the tools, standards, and workflows they need to deliver coordinated, compliant, and data-rich project outcomes.
You will serve as the bridge between project design teams, project stakeholders, and digital standards, ensuring design files are not only accurate, but also aligned with project goals and firmwide protocols. As a BIM Manager, you bring advanced modeling knowledge, coordination expertise, and strong leadership in information management, collaboration platforms, and workflow optimization.
This position supports the Digital Delivery team to contribute to GFT’s broader mission of integrating people, process, and technology to improve delivery performance, enhance client satisfaction, and promote continuous innovation.
As a BIM Manager, you will be accountable for implementing project-level BIM execution and strategies, supporting multidisciplinary collaboration, and reinforcing modeling standards across our Buildings and Places group. You’ll help manage GFT and client BIM standards, resources and workflows, and assist with improving processes, and developing automation-based solutions.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Project Delivery
- Manage and oversee BIM implementation across assigned projects, ensuring alignment with internal and client standards.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and teams to define BIM strategies. Implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) documenting all project-specific workflows, standards, and digital delivery information.
- Oversee model setup, coordination, and quality assurance. Supporting clash detection, issue tracking, and federated model reviews within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Support the implementation and configuration of cloud-based common data environments (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Clarity, Cintoo, HoloBuilder)
Standards, Tools, Process Improvement
- Lead and contribute to the development, rollout, and maintenance of BIM standards, content libraries, BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), data standards, and information management protocols in accordance with ISO 19650 and internal standards.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases, standards documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Digital Delivery team, vendors, and project teams on continued AEC technology integration and advancement.
Support & Collaboration
- Provide project onboarding, training, and day-to-day support for design teams in BIM tools and workflows.
- Serve as a liaison between design teams, contractors, clients, and consultants to align digital deliverables and coordination expectations.
- Contribute to proposals and digital strategy development for pursuits and key projects.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
- 3–7+ years of AEC industry experience, with direct project experience in BIM coordination and management, preferably in the vertical design and construction sector.
- Prior experience in a BIM Manager role, with a proven track record of leading digital delivery efforts on complex projects.
- Advanced knowledge of Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), AutoCAD and other Autodesk design tools (e.g., Navisworks, Recap, Forma).
- Knowledge of other design technologies such as reality capture, 3D visualization and extended reality (XR).
- Understanding of 3D, 4D, and 5D BIM processes, including clash detection, scheduling, and quantity take-offs.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 and other relevant BIM standards.
- Familiarity with analytical and computational tools (e.g., Dynamo), model validation software, and coordination platforms.
- Strong skills in model data and quality management, drawing production, and cloud collaboration setup.
- Demonstrated experience developing and documenting standards, standard operating procedures, and workflow guides.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical workflows to colleagues and other stakeholders.
