About the Role
As a Regulated Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for providing outstanding pharmacy service to our patients and partner organizations. Working with our pharmacy team, you will help maintain and drive an amazing, modern, and innovative pharmacy service. You will report to the Pharmacy Manager. This is an opportunity to help promote a safe, efficient and impactful pharmacy team at the core of taking care of our patients.
You Will
Support pharmacist-directed services by stocking, labeling, assembling, and filling medications, and other tasks within the RPhT scope of practice as authorized by a pharmacist. Assist as-needed in maintenance of pharmacy inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs Respond to customer inquiries and escalate to the pharmacist when necessary. Practice all applicable Ontario and federal pharmacy regulations governing the ordering, handling, and management of prescriptions and prescription drug products Maintain all security and privacy obligations regarding the use and handling of personal health information in compliance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and applicable federal privacy legislation Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary pharmacy environment by complying with standard operating procedures, OCP standards, and applicable legislation Attend all pharmacy team meetings as necessary Perform other tasks as assigned and within regulated scope of practice You Have: 18+ years of age, high school diploma, or equivalent Current registration as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) Minimum 1 year of experience working as a regulated pharmacy technician Effective knowledge of Ontario and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations relevant to pharmacy practice Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently when required High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of dispensing and documentation Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work in a team environment and promote company culture Proficiency in English, verbal and written Knowledge of French (spoken and/or written) is an asset Experience in a high-volume community, mail-order, or specialty pharmacy as a registered pharmacy technician is an asset Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights): Competitive salary & comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision Disclosures We use artificial intelligence–enabled tools to assist with candidate screening This posting is for a current vacancy Conditions of Employment: This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
