Whistler Experience Guide - Supervisor
Are you passionate about the outdoors? Do you thrive on providing excellent guest experiences? Are you an expert in all things Whistler? Why not combine all aspects of mountain life and luxury hospitality in this role!
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Starting Rate of Pay: $23.30 per hour
We recognize tenure through our compensation - hourly rates increase after 6 months and then yearly to three years. At three years the pay rate for this role would be $29.80.
Job Duties Include:

Assist the Health Club & Recreation leadership team on the implementation of UrVenue, the new guest experience platform
-
Responsible for facilitating private experiences and covering resort activities as needed
-
Training new Whistler Experience Guides on all tours and programming
-
Responsible for Whistler Experience Guide Basecamp daily operations
-
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of our guests at all times during excursions and events
-
Facilitate training for new guides covering all Health & safety practices.

Be able to answer all guest questions in regard to Whistler Blackcomb, the Whistler community, Sea to Sky corridor and the plant and wildlife in the area
-
Responsible for maintaining inventory counts of products, retail and equipment for Whistler Experience programming

Book all private guided tours and ensure correct billing for all paid experiences
-
Complete pre-arrival calls & emails for all private guided tours to prepare for upcoming experiences
-
Manage common inbox and respond to guest enquiries
-
Work closely with Health Club & Recreation leadership on scheduling resort activities and creation of new programming and special events
Qualifications
- Standard / Wilderness First Aid is required
- Class 4 Drivers' License is required
- Expert knowledge of Whistler Blackcomb Mountains
- Passion for the outdoors, most notably skiing/snowboarding/cycling/hiking
- Expert knowledge of Whistler community and surrounding area
- Back country ski experience
- Previous experience in coaching/training related to mountain activities an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant physical activity including walking, hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- This position includes working with the Hotel dog on a daily basis, including meet and greets, walks, and transportation. Candidates must be comfortable with dogs.
