25-33 Quality Assurance Tester (8 month)

The Opportunity

The QA Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our internal applications, encompassing both traditional software development (C#, JavaScript, Angular, MS SQL/Oracle) and low-code platforms (Dynamics 365 CRM). This role involves hands-on testing, defect identification, and collaboration with development teams to deliver high-quality, defect-free solutions that meet internal user requirements and support existing legacy systems.

Pay Grade: 13 ($33.94 - $39.31 per hour)
Location: Vancouver (hybrid work environment)
Reports to: Leader, IT Quality Assurance

As a Quality Assurance Tester, you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test cases for both traditional and Dynamics 365 CRM applications, based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing, across new features and legacy systems.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects thoroughly using designated bug tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure defects are understood, prioritized, and resolved, and verify defect fixes through retesting.
  • Create and manage appropriate test data sets required for effective test execution.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining testing environments to ensure accurate and reproducible test results.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, test logs, and defect reports, and provide clear status updates on testing progress.
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA team members to understand product features and ensure comprehensive test coverage for internal applications.
  • Adhere to established QA processes, standards, and methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT, involving quality assurance testing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level) are desirable.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile Methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Software Testing Fundamentals and Practices.
  • Familiarity with Bug Tracking and Test Case Management Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Database concepts (SQL queries for data validation).
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 CRM concepts and testing approaches (e.g., testing configurations, workflows).
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills to identify and report defects.
  • Clear Communication and Collaboration skills for effective team interaction.
  • Proficiency in Test Design and Execution (manual and basic automation scripting).
