We are looking for a Clinical Informatics Specialist - Expanse to work with our Professional Practice Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork
Position Responsibilities:
The Clinical Informatics Specialist-Expanse is a clinical leader and advocate for Headwater’s Electronic Medical Record, Meditech Expanse. The Clinical Informatics Specialist-Expanse ensures effective adoption, education and optimization of clinical systems across all departments, while also acting as a liaison to the Regional Expanse clinical team and committees.
Duties Include:
Local Responsibilities

Serve as a leader in the implementation and support of Meditech Expanse systems

Educate, mentor and support multidisciplinary clinical staff to promote optimal system use

Develop and maintain end user documentation, guides and training materials
-
Conduct regular rounds to assess system use and identify improvement opportunities

Lead change management efforts to support workflow and documentation enhancements
-
Support project planning and clinical decision-making using informatics best practices, organizational goals and strategic direction
Regional Responsibilities

Represent Headwaters at regional Expanse committees and events
-
Collaborate with regional partners to support module implementation and optimization
-
Provide leadership for specific clinical modules and report on project process

Build relationships with other Expanse users to share knowledge and insights
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a regulated health-related field required
- Current Registration with the applicable regulatory body in good standing is required.
- Project Management and/or Change Management certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years recent clinical practice experience with demonstrated clinical excellence in acute care required; preference given to Medicine and/or Critical Care experience
- Demonstrated experience with Health Information Systems an asset; previous Meditech implementation experience preferred
- Previous Clinical Nurse Educator or Professional Practice experience preferred
- Proficiency in effective verbal and written communication skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Capability to use conflict resolution tools and techniques
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage change and to foster an environment which promotes professional practice.
- Excellent problem solving and analytic skills
- High attention to problem description, detail, and impact
- Independent worker, self-motivated, goal oriented and a life-long learner
- Ability to create a collaborative multidisciplinary working environment which fosters effective staff participation in documentation and workflow excellence
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Hiring Salary Range: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
**The duration of this temporary contract is approximately 12 months

The new Eva Heiny Ambulatory Care Wing is home to high-demand clinics, services and programs such as dialysis, chemotherapy, minor procedures, orthopaedics and plastic surgery.
