About the role
Event Security Officer
Paladin Security is providing security services for major events throughout the Holiday Season. These high-profile events in Vancouver attract hundreds of thousands of attendees. You will work closely with the municipality, police agencies, and other emergency responders to ensure a safe and memorable experience for all.
This is an unmatched opportunity to gain valuable security experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to work alongside first responders at some of the city’s most exciting events.
Pay Rate will be $21.93/hour.
Requirements:
- Must have large-scale event security experience (ex. 5 events with more than 1,000 attendees), OR more than one year of work experience as a security supervisor
- Must have a valid BC Security License and be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must have valid Basic First Aid / Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA1)
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills
- Physical ability to stand and patrol outdoors for the entire shift in all weather conditions
- Comfortable approaching and leading in emergency situations, including trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
- Must be comfortable working independently during overnight shifts
- Work environment is outdoors and may involve encounters with local wildlife
- Must be able to remain alert, professional, and self-reliant while working alone at night
