JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Consultant, Portfolio AI Analytics

The Senior Consultant, Portfolio AI Analytics is an experienced individual contributor who is accountable for creating AI-based analysis and using sophisticated generative AI solutions to support the creation, implementation and end to end execution of underwriting strategies.

This role will work with their manager to collaborate with underwriting and risk control leaders to drive toward underwriting results for their assigned business segments. By fusing cutting-edge AI with traditional portfolio analytics, they will be part of a team pioneering a new frontier in portfolio management – delivering hyper-granular, actionable insights that were previously unattainable and implementing them into the core day-to-day operations of the underwriting and risk control areas. These insights will transform decision-making across the underwriting value chain with unprecedented precision and clarity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

Implements the creation of end to end strategies leveraging sophisticated AI tools Works on cross-functional project teams to drive straightforward implementation of strategic execution mechanisms into core systems and processes. With oversight from director level manager, partners with business areas to create localized portfolio execution goals, strategies, and targets. Creates a culture of accountability by providing needed information into CNA’s global portfolio management exercises and planning processes. Leverages a combination of cutting edge AI intelligence tools combined with traditional analytics to monitor execution outcomes Implements strong strategic feedback loops using agentic AI. Leverages collaboration mechanisms available with technology and the data and analytics hub to ensure the use of the most cutting edge technologies from CNA’s strategic AI and cloud partners

May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of core functions of an insurance company and general insurance. Exemplifies continuous learning and innovation with demonstrated entrepreneurship using generative AI Strong technical skills and knowledge of how to convert data to action. Understanding of relevant portions of the core commercial P&C underwriting process Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Effectively interacts with CNA’s internal business partners. Project management, organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or related field. Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience.

Consulting Director, Portfolio AI Analytics

The Consulting Director, Portfolio AI Analytics and Execution is a high-level individual contributor position reporting in the interim to the VP, Underwriting Portfolio Analytics. This position is accountable for creating AI-based analysis and using sophisticated generative AI solutions to support the creation, implementation and end to end execution of underwriting strategies.

This role will work directly with underwriting and risk control leaders to drive toward underwriting results for their assigned business segments. By fusing cutting-edge AI with traditional portfolio analytics, they will be part of a team pioneering a new frontier in portfolio management – delivering hyper-granular, actionable insights that were previously unattainable and implementing them into the core day-to-day operations of the underwriting and risk control areas. This role is expected to materially influence portfolio profitability, pricing adequacy, risk selection, and capital deployment by translating AI‑driven insights into underwriting guidelines, appetite definitions, and execution mechanisms that scale across the organization. These insights will transform decision-making across the underwriting value chain with unprecedented precision and clarity.

Monitors financial and underwriting outcomes (e.g., rate, mix, volatility) to continuously refine strategies and execution models. Ensures responsible use of AI, including explainability, bias awareness, and appropriate human‑in‑the‑loop decisioning aligned with CNA’s risk and governance standards

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000 complemented by a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to help our employees – and their family members – achieve their physical, financial, emotional, and social wellbeing goals. Base salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
