What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Physical Security Technology is responsible for developing
planning , implementing and maintaining the Physical Security technology
guidelines, playbooks, procedures, and protocol enterprise-wide for the RBC
Financial Group.
This role will foster synergies between all platforms to ensure cost effective
physical security measures through environmental design of physical security
technology equipment and to ensure compliance by all internal and external
parties.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert to provide advice and guidance to management at
all levels, liaison with all stakeholders to ensure sound proactive and
responsive measures in physical security risk management and solutions.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure best practice physical security technology
and processes are in place to ensure an appropriate level of protection of
physical assets, people, and processes.
The role involves supporting the implementation of a comprehensive security
strategies, integrating advanced physical security technologies, and fostering
a proactive security culture.
What will you do?
- Expert consultation and provide effective options to RBC lines of business globally with regards to assessment of physical security risk and solutions
- Participate as a member of committees to provide expert physical security recommendations.
- Engagement: Interact with key stakeholders - RBC LOBs, facility managers, landlords or other stakeholders to review and recommend appropriate physical security measures to reduce risk or threat against facilities.
- Actively drive and be accountable in the development of physical security guidelines, playbooks, policies, and procedures designated to reduce security threats and risks against employees, assets, and premises. Ensure and socialize that all of these are applied within RBC’s global facilities.
- Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent highly complex and sensitive physical security initiatives within a time efficient manner.
- Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional projects and manage the effective implementation of assigned physical security deliverables.
- Analysis of pre-event circumstances and follow-up post incident review for implementation of physical security countermeasures for future mitigation.
- Provides immediate response and/or support to an incident as required.
- Ensure that employees understand RBC Vision as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals.
- Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development, and rewarding strong performance.
- Leverage the value within pillar and enterprise-wide teams to develop better solutions and achieve a cross-enterprise mindset.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum 7-10 years prior experience in Physical Security Technology related business verticals and relevant post-secondary education from an accredited college or university
- PSP “Physical Security Professional” – Industry recognized physical security designation or ability to attain within one year of hire date.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert of Physical Security Technology (including but not limited to: CCVE, Intrusion/Alarms, Access systems, and locking devices).
- Sound knowledge of physical security risk mitigation applications.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively manage and provide oversite of third party and internal vendors at all levels in relation to physical security technology and the ability to manage and provide clear direction.
- High organizational skills and the ability to manage several diverse projects or situations concurrently.
- Actively researches and promotes innovative security technology and processes to enhance the enterprise.
- Provide leadership and direction, including 3rd party suppliers and internal staff.
- Provides recommendation for best solutions based on understanding of business requirement, needs and challenges.
- Identifies resources required.
- Identifies and tracks Project timelines, milestones and escalates to immediate manager where required.
- Seeks clarity in business requirements or escalates as appropriate.
