About the role
Transdev Canada is hiring a Casual Transit Supervisor for our Abbotsford location.
As a Transit Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating bus drivers, ensuring safety standards and adherence to schedules. This is a casual, unionized, on-site position based at our Abbotsford location, with work responsibilities throughout the entire Fraser Valley.
Your role:

Provide on-road support for transit operators.

Address on-road safety issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Promote and uphold excellent customer service across the transit system.
-
Investigate motor vehicle incidents and accidents, including follow-up investigations.
-
Submit detailed reports to management regarding incidents and operations.
-
Monitor and address safety and security concerns.
-
Maintain, deliver, and restore effective transit service when required.
-
Investigate safety and training issues related to public complaints as needed.
-
Plan and manage special projects and event coverage.
-
Write effective, accurate, and informative reports.
-
Supervise and support transit operators and employees in their daily activities.
-
Proactively collaborate with various agencies and interact with the public.

Address and resolve customer service complaints in a timely manner.

Utilize and be proficient in most computer programs relevant to the role.

Your profile:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
-
Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.
-
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public transit operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
-
Thorough knowledge of local and provincial traffic laws and safety regulations.
-
Experience in supervision, safety, and customer service is an asset.
-
Security and Conflict Resolution training is an asset.
-
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
-
Strong organizational and time management skills.
-
Customer service-oriented with a professional demeanor.

Proficiency in MS Office products such as Excel and Word, as well as Windows-based programs.

Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including boarding and inspecting vehicles.
