Position Overview Kiewit is seeking a strategic and technically proficient Senior Project Controls Analyst / Project Coordinator with a background in field engineering to lead planning and control functions on major infrastructure projects from early estimating through execution. You will be instrumental in shaping project strategy, cost planning, schedule development, risk management, and performance oversight—ensuring alignment with client goals and Kiewit’s standards of operational excellence.
A key component of this role is leading a small team and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting across all areas of project delivery.
This position may require a full-time, on-site presence at assigned project locations. Candidates must be willing and able to be deployed to project sites for the duration of the assignment.
District Overview Eastern Canada District's projects include highways, bridges, mass transit, mine site development & open pit operations, hydroelectric powerhouses, wind-power plants, dams & industrial. We serve the construction and mining industries and operate in Eastern Canada.
Location This position is be based out of our Union Station office in Toronto, ON, Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of project controls strategy, including cost, schedule, and risk management for large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., transit, bridges, highways).
- Oversee work planning and execution readiness, ensuring alignment between design intent and construction methodology.
- Manage and mentor a small team of coordinators and analysts
- Collaborate with executive leadership, clients, and design teams to define project goals, delivery models, and commercial frameworks.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, resource plans, and performance baselines.
- Support procurement strategy, subcontractor selection, and contract negotiations.
- Provide executive-level reporting and performance dashboards across all phases of the project.
- Monitor project health indicators and proactively identify risks and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure smooth transition from planning to execution, maintaining continuity in scope, budget, and team alignment.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure construction, with at least 3–5 years in project controls or project coordination leadership.
- Hands-on field experience working on large-scale civil or transit projects (e.g., LRT, metro, highways) is required.
- Proficiency in project controls tools (e.g., Primavera P6, cost management systems, risk analysis software).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Alliance contracts or collaborative delivery frameworks is a strong asset.
- Willingness to work full-time on site at project locations is mandatory.
