Summit Search Group has partnered with an established, privately held distributor who services the construction, agriculture, automotive, transportation, oilfield, forestry and manufacturing industries, and is seeking a Business Development Representative in Calgary, Alberta.
As the Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for growing their current customer base and expand their presence in key markets. This is a hunter-focused sales role for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, identifying customer needs, and closing profitable new business.
Reporting to the Sales Director, you will focus primarily on new business development while supporting new customers though the early stages of onboarding and account growth. The successful candidate will possess a growth mindset, sales management skills, strong business acumen and integrity.

Responsibilities
Identify, target, and close new customer opportunities aligned with the organization’s strategy and target markets including construction, transportation, agriculture, oilfield services, forestry, industrial operations, and related sectors. Prospect consistently through calls, site visits, referrals, networking, and market research Build and manage a disciplined pipeline with accurate CRM activity, opportunity tracking, and forecasts Conduct discovery to understand customer operations, equipment fleets, lubricant requirements, and decision-making criteria Evaluate opportunities based on revenue potential, margin, service needs, delivery requirements, and long-term fit Communicate the organizations value proposition, prepare proposals, recommend pricing, and close profitable new business Support new customer onboarding and coordinate with operations, logistics, and customer service to ensure a smooth start
Qualifications
3+ years experience in business development, outside sales Proven track record driving revenue through prospecting, opening doors, building relationships and creating new business by closing new customer accounts Strong business acumen with a proven track record of exceeding targets with emphasis on value and solution selling Experience in industrial, heavy equipment, MRO, construction, oilfield, agriculture, transportation, or related sectors is considered an asset Experience building and strengthening relationships internally and externally Exceptional communication, presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth with a sense of initiative and leadership Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative sales team Entrepreneurial mindset with accountability for results Experience implementing and effectively utilizing CRM solutions (Microsoft Dynamics CRM a plus)

The opportunity offers a salary of $100,000 - 120,000 commensurate upon experience in addition to bonus, company vehicle, health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, and the chance to join an organization that values teamwork and collaboration and is expanding quickly.
