About the role
Job Title: Infor XA (MAPICS) Techno-Functional Consultant Location: Remote – Canada Job Type: Contract Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Infor XA (MAPICS) Techno-Functional Consultant with 8–17 years of hands-on experience supporting, customizing, and enhancing Infor XA ERP solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of functional knowledge and technical expertise across multiple Infor XA modules and IBM i (AS/400) technologies. This role involves development, production support, system enhancements, troubleshooting, integrations, and collaboration with business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and convert them into functional and technical design specifications. Design, develop, test, and implement customizations within the Infor XA (MAPICS) environment. Provide techno-functional support for ERP users across various Infor XA modules. Develop and maintain interfaces, integrations, and data exchange processes. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis. Monitor ERP jobs, system performance, licensing, and batch processing. Support ERP upgrades, enhancements, and system maintenance activities. Prepare technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer and end-user training. Recommend process improvements and best practices to optimize ERP functionality. Required Skills & Experience 8–17 years of hands-on experience with Infor XA (MAPICS) in a techno-functional role. Strong functional knowledge of modules such as: IFM COM PUR MRP IM INV EPDM Strong technical expertise in: RPG RPGLE / ILE RPG SQLRPGLE CL Programming SQL/400 Query/400 DB2/400 DFU OS/400 commands Experience working with IBM i (AS/400) environments. Hands-on experience with: Robot Scheduler Job scheduling and monitoring Debugging and AS/400 utilities SFTP JSON XML Strong SQL development and query optimization skills. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have Experience with Infor IDF. Experience with PowerLink. Experience with Aldon change management. ERP implementation or upgrade experience. Performance tuning and database optimization expertise. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on large-scale ERP support or implementation projects. Strong understanding of ERP integrations and business processes. Ability to collaborate effectively with functional teams, developers, and business users.
