Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Education, or equivalent is preferred. A Masters in Business Administration would be an asset;
- Minimum of three years’ work experience in an office setting;
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and Outlook;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Criminal record check vulnerable sector; and
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Successful candidate must provide College or University transcripts and a Clean Criminal Record Check to Human Resources prior to commencement.
This position is covered under the Collective Agreement between Northern Lakes College and the Faculty Association of Northern Lakes College.

Instructor, Office Administration
Northern Lakes College is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Instructor for the Office Administration program within the Business department. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about adult education, skilled in office administration, and committed to supporting student success in a flexible, distance learning environment.
Nature and Scope of Work
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Business, Academic, Trades and Regional Stewardship, the Instructor, Office Administration delivers the Office Administration program remotely, supporting adult learners through Northern Lakes College’s distance learning model. This home-based instructor role involves planning, teaching, and evaluating students online, while addressing diverse learning needs and maintaining accurate records.
The Instructor also collaborates with College departments and industry partners to ensure program relevance and learner success. Occasional travel to other College campuses may be required for meetings, training, or special events.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Planning and Delivery
- Plan and prepare instructional materials tailored to diverse learning styles and student needs;
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction through distance education; and
- Evaluate and report on student learning, progress, and achievement.
Student Support and Administration
- Assist with student recruitment, enrollment, and retention initiatives;
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records;
- Submit enrollment data, interim reports, and year-end summaries in a timely manner; and
- Support students in securing employment placements and work integrated learning opportunities.
Program and Resource Management
- Identify, procure, and maintain instructional equipment and materials for program delivery;
- Liaise with industry partners to ensure program relevance and alignment with workforce needs;
- Collaborate with other college departments to support learner success; and
- Uphold institutional polices and procedures, including confidentiality and data security.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Education, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience);

Minimum of three years’ experience in an office administration setting;

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Teams;
-
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
-
Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector); and
-
A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Assets:
- Experience teaching adult learners;
- Experience teaching in a distance learning environment;
- Familiarity with distance education platforms and tools; and
- Experience working in or with rural and northern communities.
