Role Overview: The Engineering Manager (EM) provides both people leadership and technical guidance, overseeing a cross-functional team of engineers. The EM ensures delivery on product goals, supports career growth, and contributes to scaling the product and company vision. They will partner with the Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability.

What you’ll do:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the entire software development team (~15 people, both backend and frontend) including 1:1 meetings, feedback and growth plans
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Design leaders to align engineering priorities with business objectives
- Ensure code quality, reliability, and scalability through best practices in reviews, testing, and DevOps automation
- Work alongside the development team to solve challenging technical problems, contributing directly to the codebase and setting the standard for software development excellence
- Monitor performance metrics, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback on improvements to the team
What you bring:
- Post-secondary education in a Computer/Engineering/Design related field
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership or management
- Hands-on engineering expertise with strong coding skills, design experience, and a passion for building high-quality software
- Ability to craft and execute strategic engineering roadmaps that align with business objectives
- High familiarity with Showpass’ core tech stack is plus: Python/Django & React
- Proven success leading cross-functional engineering teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Ability to balance hands-on technical direction with guiding teams toward long-term strategic goals
- Compassionate mentor and people champion who supports individual growth while raising the bar on performance
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity, problem-solving ability, and curiosity for modern technologies (including AI and automation)
