We are looking for a Manager, Project Management to lead the successful delivery of internal capital projects within our Distribution and Network portfolios. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety (EHS), and customer satisfaction. The Manager will oversee a team of skilled project management professionals, providing strategic direction, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring the consistent application of project management best practices to achieve business objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop new standards, policies, processes and templates. Ensure that all standards and due diligence are being followed by project teams. Mentor/coach team members within the PM discipline.
  • Build effective cross-functional teams from different organizations, assisting team members in annual performance reviews, career development opportunities, and ensuring Key Performance Indicators for the team and projects are on track.
  • Identify and solve complex problems by sharing experience and expertise and using a broad perspective and resources both inside and outside the project management team to develop solutions, ensuring consistency with the project objectives.
  • Liaise closely with the other Projects Team Managers, Customer Relations and System Development, Operations, Engineering, Field Services and other technical and functional support to ensure all aspects of project execution are on track and coordinated, ensuring safe and efficient execution of assigned projects, within the set targets and schedules.
  • Has a portfolio view and manages, monitors, and reports as such based-on project, customer, and management needs.
  • Direct focus on project scope, cost, schedule, EHS, quality, change management, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage dependencies between projects to minimize adverse consequences for projects and business units.
  • Staffs the team appropriately to manage resource demands.
  • Engage, utilize and provide oversight of PM consultants as necessary.

Education Required:

  • Post Secondary Degree or equivalent (ie: diploma)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in design, construction management, and project management experience

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership skills, able to lead, coach and mentor staff members.
  • Strong understanding of the business and the environment in which it operates.
  • Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong facilitation skills, able to bring together cross-functional teams and business processes.
  • Integrative thinker, superior soft skills, ability to negotiate with various stakeholders, building relationships with suppliers, customers and team members.

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
