ANCILLARY SERVICES: Athletics, Recreation, Operations & Wellness
The University of New Brunswick REDS are the non-academic unit within the Ancillary Services unit. Through athletics and recreation programming they strive to be national leaders in wellness, sport, and recreation excellence. The REDS also lead many internal and external general events across various facilities in hopes of being engaged within our community. The Athletics, Recreation, Operations & Wellness (AROW) unit operates within the Ancillary Services group.
WHAT WE OFFER
Full-time | 1-Year Term | Fredericton | On-Campus
Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $48,679 - $60,848 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the AROW (Athletics, Recreation, Operations & Wellness) Financial Manager, the Financial Coordinator provides day-to-day administration of financial transactions across the REDS units of Operation, Recreation, and Athletics.
Process journal entries, invoices, purchase order requisitions, and other financial transactions for assigned REDS units and youth programming.
Manage deposits from in-person and e-commerce sales, ensuring accurate reconciliation across multiple data sources.
Complete procurement card reconciliations and manage petty cash funds.
Provide regular updates on the status of assigned accounts.
Prepare monthly invoices for facility users and complete internal transfers, ensuring accurate reconciliation.
Liaise with Client Services to confirm contracts and agreements for billing purposes.
Monitor expenses against budget allocations and provide recommendations to the Financial Manager and REDS Leadership team.
Assist with quarterly and annual reporting on financial metrics.
Produce revenue and financial reports to support timely decision-making.
Complete staff change forms for part-time staff.
Liaise with MaxHealth for financial oversight of Athlete Therapy
Request approvals for health coverage and administer transactions in medical and therapy accounts.
Support the Financial Manager and Director of REDS Athletics with financial oversight and reporting needs.
WHAT YOU BRING
Post-secondary diploma in a related field.
1 to 3 years experience in a similar financial processing role.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Additional Strengths
Knowledge of a university financial environment is considered an asset.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Strategic thinker with a positive, solutions-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently with accuracy and accountability.
Skilled in reconciling and tracking financial data.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
