About the role
Advance Paper Box Ltd is looking for a Janitor to join our team, who will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment in our manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in supporting the health and safety of our staff, ensuring cleanliness in common areas, production floors, restrooms, and offices. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in keeping spaces spotless and hazard-free.
Advance Paper Box is a fully integrated folding carton manufacturing facility, including design, die making, printing, die-cutting, and gluing. Our customers range from food and pharmaceutical manufacturers to computer software and automotive supply companies. Shift: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: 105 Panet Rd, Winnipeg, MB R2J 0S1
Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors in offices, production, and common areas twice a day.
- Empty trash containers and clean waste disposal areas and sanitize high-touch surfaces in areas like the employee entrance, lunchroom, and locker areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, lunchrooms, and break areas twice a day.
- Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper on a regular basis.
- Remove debris and maintain clear walkways to ensure a safe environment
- Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify the supervisor/ purchasing team when stock needs replenishing
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist with setup/cleanup for company events or meetings when required
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in the facility
- Additional tasks such as vaccum the offices and deep cleaning are performed on a scheduled basis.
- Perform other janitorial duties as assigned by the supervisor
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of janitorial or cleaning experience in an industrial or commercial setting preferred
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment
- Ability to work independently and stay on schedule
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing/walking for extended periods
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sanitary environment
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
