Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, visible, and alert security presence at all times
• Greet, assist, and direct visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and property
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols and safety inspections
• Respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance as required
• Complete detailed reports and investigations for incidents and occurrences
• Monitor patients and enforce hospital policies and by-laws
• Manage access control, keys, and safety compliance
• Collaborate effectively with teammates and supervisors
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Security License for Ontario
• Valid G Class driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination
• Immunization records for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2 (Completed immunization for MMR is required at time of hire - Applicants who cannot provide proof of MMR immunity at time of hire will not be eligible for the position.)
• Minimum 6 months of security experience (1+ year preferred)
• Must be able to commute to Kingston for pre-deployment training
• Must be able to site train at all four QHC facilities (Belleville, Trenton, Picton, Bancroft)
• Must be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have

• Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

• Applicants without these certifications may complete Paladin's UoF/MOAB training prior to onboarding.

• Training costs are fully covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment to the position.

• Healthcare security experience considered an asset
