About the role

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director, Solution Design and Development, the Release Manager is responsible for :

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and manage the end-to-end release management process across development, Quality Assurance, and production environments
  • Plan and coordinate release schedules, cutovers, and go-live activities
  • Ensure releases meet quality, compliance, and control standards
  • Partner with development, testing, infrastructure, SAP, and business teams
  • Manage release approvals, change records, and go/no-go decisions
  • Coordinate post-release validation and issue resolution
  • Maintain release documentation, runbooks, and audit evidence
  • Identify risks and dependencies and proactively mitigate them
  • Drive continuous improvement in release and deployment practices
  • Lead and manage ERP bug fixes, enhancement releases.
  • Lead and manage WeRecycle Portal bug fixes, production issues and annual maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain release documentation, including runbooks and implementation plans.
  • Lead to help prioritize production issues/bug fixes/enhancements with QA Testing team.
  • Lead change management, training, and user adoption strategies.
  • Release Planning: Define and manage the release calendar, coordinating with development, QA, operations, and business teams.
  • Deployment Coordination: Oversee the deployment process, ensuring successful delivery to production with minimal downtime.
  • Change Management: Work closely with Change Advisory Boards (CAB) to ensure all changes are reviewed and approved.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the release process and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Communication: Act as the central point of contact for all release-related communications. Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding progress.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to help remove roadblocks and achieve Implementation timelines.
  • Review PIRs monthly for SDD Incidents, if any to make sure RCAs are documented.
  • Participate in Data Retention and Archival policy project for ERP application.
  • Attend meetings scheduled by PMO for requirement gathering of ERP/portal projects.
  • Participate in INTAKE prioritizations for upcoming quarter/year.
  • Attend weekly meetings with all business teams for regular updates and touch base.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience in software release management or a related role.

  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices and change management processes.

Knowledge**/Competencies/Skills**

  • Release Management Tools- JIRA/ Confluence

  • Basic knowledge of SAP structure and release strategy

  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week, remotely from a home office environment.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

Expected Compensation:

  • An annual base salary in the range of $100,000 to $120,000

The salary range listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects a potential base salary range for this role. The actual salary offered will be determined within the range, and will depend on factors, such as the candidate’s unique qualifications, relevant experience, work location and expected contributions.
