Are you interested in helping us promote healthy lifestyles and opportunities for recreation in a fast-paced team environment? We are currently offering Auxiliary Facility Attendant opportunities to help maintain effective relationships with patrons, ensure that facility rules and procedures are followed, and perform various tasks related to the operation of the arenas and/or community recreation programs offered by our Parks, Recreation and Culture department.
In this busy role, you will help facilitate and foster a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons on and off the ice. Your customer service and communication skills will assist you in ensuring arena operation procedures are being followed by monitoring ice traffic control and safety, issuing and retrieving rental skates and reporting any safety or operational concerns. The ability to skate well is essential to this position as you will be required to maneuver quickly and gracefully on the ice. Off the ice you will support program set up and take down, respond to patron inquiries and requests and support site organization and cleanliness.
The following qualifications are required for this position:
- Grade 10 education
- A minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience
- A valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C (infant/child/adult) certificate
Intermediate skating skills are required; including the ability to skate forwards, backwards, stop, crossover and assist patrons on and off the ice.
Due to the nature of the job, you must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $17.40 to $20.08 plus an additional 12.4% percent in lieu of benefits.
