About the role
Heritage Family Services is seeking an experienced Team Lead Worker for a dynamic program in Red Deer, AB. Shifts rotate between 4 on/2 off (8-hour shifts) and 3 on/3 off (12-hour shifts).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain trusting, respectful relationships with youth
-
Ensure a safe, secure environment, adhering to security protocols
-
Lead shifts, providing guidance, coaching, and support to both staff and clients
-
Execute daily routines and youth-centered programming
-
Assist with meal preparation and support self-concept development
-
Advocate for each youth, facilitating access to support services
-
Provide a caring, nurturing environment that supports emotional development
-
Teach life skills, including cognitive reframing, social information processing, and self-regulation
Requirements:
-
A minimum of a two-year diploma in Human Services and three years of experience working with children/youth
-
Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Intervention Check, valid Class 5 Driver's License, and Driver's Abstract with fewer than 6 demerits

Proficient in therapeutic care and the TCI model with an understanding of child development, trauma, and grief
-
Knowledge of Indigenous traditions and culturally appropriate care

Respect for diverse communities, identities, and backgrounds
-
Strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to work with individuals from socially marginalized groups
Mandatory Requirements:

A Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) that is dated within the last 6 months
A Child Intervention Check that is dated within the last 6 months
Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
Class 5 Alberta Government Issued Driver’s License
A Driver's Abstract that is dated within the last 6 months
Copy of education listed in resume.
