The Specialist, Brand & Category Marketing plays a key role in supporting brand strategy, category-led marketing initiatives, and full funnel go to market execution across Community banners (Foodland, IGA West & Thrifty Foods). This role partners closely with internal cross-functional teams and agency partners to bring brand and category strategies to life for our customers.
Here's Where You'll Be Focusing
- Understands and champions the brand strategy, acting as a brand steward through all marketing and communication activations.
- Supports both Brand Marketing and Category Marketing functions by contributing to the development, execution, and optimization of programs that enhance brand equity and drive category performance across banners.
- Collaborates with the Marketing Manager, Community (Foodland, IGA West & Thrifty Foods) on the development of integrated marketing programs, including strategic planning, category-led initiatives, and tactical execution.
- Works closely with central Brand Marketing teams to ensure all campaigns are aligned to brand expression, visual identity, positioning, and standards—helping translate brand strategy into effective go to market moments.
- Partners with Category Management teams to support category-led initiatives, including seasonal plans, product storytelling, promotional strategies, and in-store and digital integration of priority categories.
- Coordinates with internal cross functional teams—including Field Marketing, Creative Studio, Content Services, Digital, Loyalty, Merchandising, Business & Customer Insights, and Category—along with external agencies, to design and execute programs that support brand and category marketing priorities.
- Assists with management and execution of project tracking, including marketing calendars, category campaign timelines, business updates, and quarterly updates.
- Develops and manages promotional and marketing plan workstreams, including project management and follow ups, creative proof reviews, campaign documentation, and budget tracking and reconciliation.
- Works closely with Customer Insights and external research partners to conduct pre /post campaign reporting and analysis for both brand and category initiatives, identifying trends and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Acts as an ongoing liaison with Own Brands and Merchandising teams, supporting contesting, product launches, seasonal programs, and integration of Own Brand items into brand marketing campaigns and category marketing plans.

- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in brand marketing, category marketing, or integrated marketing roles
